Assortment of tooling available
2 months 2 weeks ago #136
Late yesterday I was given access to a quantity of mostly obscure, probably obsolete tooling and related items from a manufacturing facility that closed down. I stashed all of it in the bed of my pick-up and it's heavy and I don't intend to unload it prior to the club meeting. I'm planning to be in the parking lot off Manhattan Beach Boulevard at about 1 PM, before tomorrow's club meeting to make it available to club members on a first-come basis. If you want to look through the items and pick out anything that looks interesting, the only cost for any of it will be a good-conscience donation of whatever amount you believe to be reasonable to the club treasury. Such donations can be made directly to Jim; I'm not making change.
Among the items is an extensive assortment of drill bushings of various sizes, a milk crate containing nothing but allen wrenches of various sizes, half-a-dozen or so small to medium sized Jacobs chucks, a couple of heavy 6" machine vises (one with a swivel base), a crateful of pneumatic hand tools that were used in production-line applications as drills, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
I couldn't come close to describing everything that's there or even how all of it might be used. If you're interested, I'll see you tomorrow.
